Scrutiny process of EC disqualified 557 candidature applications for several reasons including loan, tax & bill defaults, incomplete applications, restraint of information and many other faults. But EC provide the option for appeal against the decision and 99 of candidates submitted their petition for hearing accordingly and 30 of them get validity.
Disqualification and cancellation of candidature put the parties in a difficult situation in many constituencies.
