However for children with cancer it is not less than a battle. Children face it with undaunted bravery and approval of their situation that humbles us. These children are a motivation in their capability to put aside their pain and grief and make the finest of whatever life has to put forward. We have much to be taught from them

CanKids… KidsCan is a family support group for children with cancer and their families. In association with International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) and International Chamber of Childhood Cancer Parents Organization (ICCCPO), CanKids…KidsCan, was on track in January 2004. It is a part of Indian Cancer Society, Delhi Branch, which in turn is a branch of the Indian Cancer Society, headquartered in Mumbai, as a support group for children who have somebody in the family with cancer.

At the CanKids Haven in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, you can witness how CanKids is supporting slum children, street children, child laborers and other cancer affected children from all over India, skirmishing a clash with Cancer every gulp of air of there lives to supply preeminent doable healing (to deal with the illness), care and backing to reintegrate reverse in to the social order., and for their parents to get medical and educational aid, and emotional and psychological hold up. Until now CanKids has operated frequently in Delhi and NCR, although children are approaching from all parts of India like Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh to receive proper care, treatment and support, a Home Away from Home is being set up at a distance of 2 kms from AIIMS, RGCI and Apollo Hospital, with some preliminary activity at DCT, Shahdara. However the aim is to grow it into a world wide organization, setting up units in other States independently or with other NGOs who are working in the field. The entire preparation is almost done for starting a unit in Patna, along with parents of children wit cancer from that region.

As a juvenile person diagnosed and treated for cancer, equally patient and family go through the multifaceted and repeatedly startling world of contemporary medicine. Hospitals and chief medical centers can be enormous and puzzling places with apparently infinite corridors and manifold buildings. Hospital rooms can be dowdy and creepy. Lots of professionals have questions, tests to execute, and information to furnish. The language can seem unfamiliar and the terms used strange. There are never-ending forms to be fulfilled. The schedules and routines of daily family life are distorted to lodge a difficult treatment plan. Family members are estranged as one parent returns to work and siblings attend school. Siblings often feel very uncared for, particularly in our country where the number of cancer care centers are little and parents frequently travel with their child for treatment to big cities parting their children in the care of relatives or at times even on their own, as they stay away for long periods of treatment process.

Every so often like this information, awareness, knowledge, financial assistance, and vitally emotional, social and psychological support are vital for the family as a whole.
