Chad Spicer, a Georgetown, Delware police officer who responded to a shoot-out at a local McDonald’s has died from injuries.
Chad Spicer, 29, and Corporal Shawn Brittingham responded to an alleged shooting at the restaurant, and where fired upon when they followed the suspect.
Both were taken to Beebe Medical Center, and Brittingham is in good condition despite being struck by a bullet fragment.
The shooting took place near Kimmey Street and Rosa Street. Following the shooting, polica arrested two suspects in the area.
Police Chief William Topping said Spicer had been in the service about a year.
DelmarvaNow reported Topping as saying,“We need to focus on Officer Spicer’s family and keep them in our prayers and give them everything they need. This is another demonstration that life is valuable and fragile and what we do is a dangerous job.”
