Inaugurating the additional accommodation, Dr. Indu Khoda said the school was started in a single-room accommodation in 2002 by an NGO with the help of
The Chairperson said under the J&K Armed Police’s Civic Action Programme, additional accommodation for the school has been constructed in a record time. She added that the additional infrastructure in the school, which also includes bath-room will facilitate the students in receiving education in a better way. She also paid rich tributes to the dedicated efforts of J&K Armed Police for penetrating the remote pockets and helping in providing better educational infrastructure to facilitate students who are mostly orphans and those belonging to the poor sections of the society.
Throwing light on the Civic Action Programme, Dr. Indu Khoda said the Police Organization and Police Wives Welfare Association are coordinating to provide relief in the form of stationery, uniforms and other required accessories to schoolchildren, who are studying in different educational institutions across the State.
The Chairperson also hailed the recent decision of opening four more Police Public schools in Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda and Rajouri which, she said, will go a long way in imparting quality education among wards of the police personnel at district levels.
Dwelling at length on the various initiatives taken by Association, Dr. Indu Khoda said steps have been taken to impart free coaching to meritorious students in various competitive exams, besides qualified students of police personnel up to the rank of inspectors have also been taken. She also drew attention of the people present on the occasion towards various educational tours undertaken by the students in joint coordination between the J&K Police and the Police Wives Welfare Association. She added that such tours will continue in future also.
Setting an example for others to emulate, Dr. Indu Khoda and Members, Mrs. Manju Rashid, DIG, Mrs. Neelam Gupta, Mrs. Ravinder Kour and Mrs. Gurmeet Kour donated Rs. 20,000 on-the-spot out of their own pockets to the School Management. The management, was moved by the generous financial help of Dr. Indu Khoda and her fellow Members of the association.
Later, Dr. Indu distributed stationery items among the schoolchildren. She also announced a one-day excursion fro students and staff members to Mansar.
A colourful cultural programme by school students was also presented on the occasion.
Among other, SSP, Manmohan Singh, Members of Police Wives Welfare Association and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
