As reported by the director of planning in charge of launching of ‘Chandrayan -1’, Mr.Mayilsamy Annadurai,the Chandrayan satellite meant for the purpose of exploring moon to be launched by India is ready for its launch in April 1 st, 2008.It will be helpful to know more facts about the moon hitherto unknown to the scientific community and the public as well.
Chandrayan is weighed at 1304 Kg.Even taking into account of some hurdles or snags that may develop, if any in launching the satellite, it will be launched in time as scheduled.Chandrayan-1 will begin to orbit the moon and explore it within three weeks of its launch and on reaching moon.With the information that we obtain from Chandrayan -1, Chandrayan -2 is going to be launched in the year 2012.India’s quest to explore the moon and its aspiration to send man to moon will be fulfilled by these satellites.
