Jammu, March 11 (Scoop News) – The benefits given to family of the two girls killed recently in spore include, ex-gratia relief @ Rs. one lakh each deceased i.e. two lakhs in total, an amount of Rs. 10, 000 has been paid to the bereaved family from the Red Cross, SRO-43 benefits to the surviving son of the bereaved father is being processed under norms.
This was stated by the Minister for Higher Education, Youth Services and Sports, R. S. Chib while replying on behalf of Chief Minister to a Call Attention Motion by Abdul Gani Vakil regarding recent killing of two sisters in Muslim Peer Sopore by un-identified gunman
The Minister said on January 31, 2011, two Lashker-e-Toiba militants barged into the house of one Gh. Nabir Dar R/o Muslim peer Sopore and dragged his two daughters namely Ms Akhtar age 20 years and Ms Arifa age 17 years from the house and killed them near Ziayrat Rahim Sahib Chinkipora, Sopore. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 39/2011 U/S 364, 302, RPC 7/27 Arms Act was registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation, the militants responsible for gruesome killings have been identified as Waseem Ahmed Ganai @ Sher-i-Uni and Muzffar Ahmed Naikoo @ Muz Molvi. The incident spread a reign of terror in the town and posters were also found pasted warning the citizens to face the same consequences, if they behave as informers and do not subscribe to their moral policing. The posters were torn by the locals. Efforts are on, to arrest the accused persons involved in the said incident.
The Minister further informed the House that MoS for R&B, Mechanical Engineering, Health & Medical Education, Javed Ahmad Dar, MLA Sopore, Mophammad Ashraf Ganaie and other senior district officers have visited the bereaved family. The team of interlocutors headed by Dilip Padgoankar also visited Sopore on 24.2.2011 to console the family.
Chib further said that since the bereaved family is living in a very deplorable conditions in a one room house, financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 1.05 lakhs under the IHSDP for providing the housing facilities have been processed and Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla has directed the Tehsildar Sopore to provide 05 Marlas of the suitable available kachrarai land on which the family could raise the construction and BPL, ration card has already been provided to the family.
