Country music legend, Dolly Parton, happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and was struck in an intersection in a car accident on Monday, October 21, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Parton was reportedly in the front seat of a Nissan Xterra when a Mitsubishi Diamante driven by a 64-year-old woman, Diane Lish, pulled into the intersection and the two vehicles collided.
Parton’s longtime friend and assistant, Judy Ogle, was driving the Xterra when the accident occurred and they were both taken to the Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment; and Lish was taken to Centennial Medical Center. None of the injuries were serious according to the Tennessean.
The police investigation indicated that Lish failed to yield.
It has been reported the 67-year-old country music legend is recovering at her home following the minor car crash.
I saw Parton on the Queen Latifah Live Show the other day and she looked amazing and she had the spunk of an 18-year-old. She sang a rap song about Miley Cyrus singing, “I’ve got your wrecking balls right here on Queen Latifah’s Show;” and she strutted her stuff and thrilled the crowd and me too. Parton is a great performer and I don’t believe age is anything but a number because she looks fantastic.
Parton is due to hit the road to kick off her Blue Smoke World Tour which will commence next year with six shows in Australia and this is set to coincide with her upcoming ‘Blue Smoke’ album.
Parton shows “no” signs of slowing down and she looks fantastic and with plenty of energy; and in my opinion, she is set to offer Australia a tour they won’t forget. She’s indicated that her love of performing for her fans in that part of the world is high.
Parton stated, “Australia you’ve been so very good for me for many years and I know that we’re going have a wonderful time. So, Australia, I’m coming home. Wait up!”
Parton’s tour will also include stops in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, Australia and she’ll be performing 11 shows in the UK and also in Ireland, Denmark, Germany and Norway.
Tickets for the Australian shows go on sale on Friday, November 1, 2013 and are available.
