Poetry From The Heart
A dismal day brings on a bleak mood…
there’s a loss of words during the walk.
Dead leaves punish moments of silence
create gloom in my mind of the past.
Numbness revisits in full force…
blocking regrets and distresses of yesterdays.
Expressions show signs of disgust and mistrust
where a once happy face was playful and free.
The bygones leave a noose around one’s neck
choking out intentions for happiness and peace.
A core hurts inside aching for satisfaction…
a place to hide earlier pangs of abuse.
The moments are in wait for a new season
stokes the mind, a reminder for a day of renewal
foreseeable in the future, a restoration of a rebirth
erasing the old and replacing it with a recovery.
Dead leaves punish moments of silence…
create a sign for revitalization for my life.
Dead leaves punish moments of silence…
