Sheila Dikshet declares disputed Babri Masjad as a great heritage like Lal Quilla and Taj Mahal.
Delhi CM Sheila Dikshet today addressed a rally of 19 unauthorized colonies federation, recently formed by the people of Karala and other adjacent places under the chairmanship of H K Kaul a social activist.
The rally was organized by the local congress supporters to highlight the achievements of the Shiela Dikshet Government and the centre Government, for meeting the requirements of these colonies. Congress party parliamentary candidate of North West, Krishana Tirth also addressed the gathering.
While speaking at the occasion, Delhi State Chief Minister reminded people of many development steps, taken by her Government, during the past years, for the betterment of these colonies. She praised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for earning great applauses from US President Barak Obama. She stressed that the present Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was the best amongst all Prime Ministers Indian people must have seen so far. She ridiculed the idea of Mulayam Singh,(SP) Ramvilas Paswan(LJP) and Lalu Yadav(RJD) coming together and thus each one of them dreaming to become Prime Minister. But she soon added that by now they have understood that their dream could not come true, they have finally said that despite fighting elections separately from congress, their PM candidate is Manmohan Singh only. She also passed a sarcastic comment on NCP leader Sharad Pawar saying that all of a sudden their machines develop snag. However she was greeted by the local people with great reverence, affection gratitude and tremendous love and applause. Every one in the colony was praising her for the good work done by her Government. Although there remains a lot to be done but at least some one has taken some initiative in the development of these colonies. Smt. Dikshet was handed over a 12 point charter of demands by the colony inmates, she promised to address all these issues only after the elections are over.
Among other things the colony people had drawn the attention of the Delhi CM towards the fact that no doubt the development work had started in these colonies but it has not been carried in systematic manner and is done only in fits and starts. While work is started in some colonies some nine colonies have been left over without even sanctioning a lane or a pole or a water tape post in these colonies. Where work was initiated it has been left half way and making it more inconvenient for the colony people to cope up with the coming monsoon days, when the incomplete drains, without proper water outlet will get filled with water and become breeding ground for diseases. There are some five million people living in such unauthorized colonies in
Likewise there is no drinking water facility still provided in these colonies. The street lights are fixed in small size colonies, whereas the bigger are left without any such facility. The DDA, Police and other local authorities are still harassing people in these colonies. These and other host of issues like unemployment of rural youth was also raised as one issue. The CM had assured that the Govt. was aware of the problems of these colonies and will do its best to sort out the same only after elections. The biggest problem of de-notifying the notified portion of these colonies remains a big issue. Shiela Dikshet warned people to stay away from the communal politics and declared disputed Babri Masjid as a great heritage like Lal Quilla and Taj Mahal. ( more on www.merinews.com)
