New Delhi (GR-TYP-BIN): Delhi government decided to nominate 10 MLAs as district in-charges to improve the health care facilities in the national CAPITAL and 28 other MLAs will be nominated as chairpersons of patient welfare committees (Rogi Kalyan Samitis) in government hospitals.
The decision for the improvement of patient care in Delhi’s hospitals was announced by Health minister Mr. Satyendra Jain on April 16.
The department of health will prepare the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for smooth functioning of these committees and clear guidelines for district in-charges about their mandate and duties.
It has also been decided to seek a fresh approval of the cabinet for preparing a fresh constitution for the functioning of district in-charges and patient welfare committees (Rogi Kalyan Samitis).
These two bodies will concentrate on issues such as basic hygiene, conditions of wards and operation theatres, situation of outdoor patient departments (OPDs), facilities for admitted patients etc.
The district in-charges will be empowered to make visits to primary health centres and make suggestions for improvement. The names of nominated MLAs to the two bodies will be notified shortly.
