Despite persistent reports of ongoing Israeli spying and espionage in America – Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel affirmed US-Israeli military commitment today according to the Pentagon.
Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby provided the following read-out today of the two meeting in Munich, Germany:
“Secretary Hagel met this afternoon with Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon while both leaders attended the Munich Security Conference.
“The conversation covered a wide array of regional security issues, to include ongoing developments in Iran, Syria and Egypt.
“Secretary Hagel reiterated the commitment of the United States to the defense of Israel and pledged to continue working closely with Minister Ya’alon as together our two militaries confront the common challenges of violent extremism, regional instability and declining defense spending” (source: DOD http://www.defense.gov/Releases/Release.aspx?ReleaseID=16521).
