Srinagar,October 03, (Scoop News)- In order to review the security, law & order and deployment arrangements for Idd-ul-Zuha celebrations, a high level meeting of senior police officers was convened at PCR here today.
Chaired by the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, the meeting was also attended by ADG Armed, S.M. Sahai, IGP CID, Dr. B Srinivas, IGP Security, S K Sharma and Para-military officers.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements put in place for Idd-ul-Zuha celebrations in the valley. Security, order, police bundbust and traffic arrangements were also discussed in the meeting.
Officers present in the meeting, briefed the DGP about the arrangements put in place to ensure peaceful celebrations.
IGP Kashmir Zone, A. G. Mir, informed the meeting about arrangements made at different places, where Idd prayers would be held. He said that all required arrangements would be made to make the access of the people to the places of worship convenient.
During the meeting IGP Traffic, Muneer Ahmad Khan briefed about Traffic arrangements made for smooth flow of Traffic to the leading roads in cities and towns during Idd congregations/celbirations.
DIsG, CKR and NRK, Syed Ahfadul Mujaba and Ghulam Hassan Bhat also apprised the meeting about measures taken with regard to ensuring security in and around Idd Prayer venues in their respective ranges. They informed the meeting about deployment of personnel in their jurisdictions.
The meeting was told that all arrangements have been made to maintain law and order in the valley. Despite engagements of personnel with relief activities, it is being ensured that the deployment on security front does not effect.
Expressing satisfaction over the law and order situation, Rajendra stressed upon the participants to coordinate with each other ensuring peaceful Idd celebrations in the state. He said that due to the joint efforts by all stakeholders ‘we have been able to prevail peace and order, and it is important to keep the situation maintained, ensuring security of the people’ he added.
