Team India‘s captain M.S. Dhoni & leg spinner Harbhajan Singh have landed themselves in the midst of a new controversy. This time, they both went missing at the President’s award function, in which they were to be honored with the prestigious Padma Shree Award. In an official statement issued by the Home Ministry, it is clearly stated that both of them Dhoni & Harbhajan were intimated about the awards date nearly one month in advance.
Surprisingly, neither of them did not even have the courtesy to inform the ministry about their decision to skip the awards ceremony. And for 2 days, they were almost untraceable to the confirmation calls made by the ministry officials.
This strange disappearing act by Bhajji and Dhoni has triggered strong reactions from prominent personalities from all fields. Most of the people expressed shock at the disrespect shown by the duo towards an award which related to national glory and pride.
Although Harbhajan was available for comments, and said that he wanted to attend the awards but could not due to family engagements, but no reactions could be had from Dhoni who left for South Africa by a late-night flight.
