Dial 1098, When you find any child in distress

 

 

Jammu, December 18 (Scoop News)   –  Director School Education G. A. Qureshi said there is great need to protect the rights of children and create awareness in the society adding that the NGOs and public should come forward for this social cause. He appreciated the students for their performance who participated in various cultural items. He also distributed prizes and certificates among the winners and runners of the Inter zone painting completion.

Childline Jammu in collaboration with Education Department today organized a special programme to highlight the problems of poor children in distress and also distributed prizes among the winners of recently concluded Inter Zone Painting Competition organized by ChildLine at Apna Van, Sure Chak.

G. A. Qureshi was the Chief Guest and State Secretary IRCS Jammu and Kashmir Feroz Ahmad presided over the function. Dignitaries from different organizations and prominent figures from all walks of life also graced the function which is oragnised at Apna Van near Government Middle School, Surechak, Phalayan Mandal,

Director ChildLine  Dinesh Gupta in his welcome address, gave the brief account of the organization working for the welfare of the slum children and need to keep check on their exploitation. He assured the members of the organization, to render all possible help in tracing, helping and protecting these innocent children of the poor class from exploitation.

He highlighted the aims and objectives of the Childline and said that any citizen if finds a child in distress, abandoned or facing exploitation, denied labour or being beaten up, he or she should immediately contact the Childline at phone No. 1098 (Toll free). This service is available round the clock. The team of the Childline would reach there immediately to help the victim at the spot.

O P Gupta, Co-ordinator, stressed the need of raising a Home for keeping such children there.

On the occasion, patriotic song presented by ChildLine team and students of various schools besides Dogri songs, skits, folk song, group song, Gidda and other cultural items also presented by the students of different schools.
