HRMC settled at Bumborate (Kalash valley) to protect rights of Kalash community.
CHITRAL: Human Rights Monitoring Committee (HRMC) cabinet nominated at Bumborate village of Kalash valley to protect for the rights of Kalash as well as Muslim people in the valley. The HRMC was established by Easy and Equitable Access to Justice Program for Women of Chitral funded by TROCAIRE (Ireland). The HRMC was established at first time in the Kalash valley to protect for the their rights as they are in sever thread by different ways like high mortality ratio due to lack of facilities and awareness. Human rights activists explored basic human rights which is a series of creating of awareness among the Kalash community which are in Minority (1% only of total population).
The speakers said that this is a series of establishing HRMC branches in different valleys to protect human rights. They said that rights of local people especially Kalash community are violating at large scale and we want to set up local Human Rights Monitoring committee to watch strictly on these situations for protection of human rights. They said that Kalash community are in great thread due to movement of outsiders in these valleys as well lack basic facilities, high mortality rate, lack of health facilities and awareness regarding their basic fundamental rights. The speakers said that a local committee will be established here comprising over local cabinet who will forward human rights cases to regional office at Chitral and all cases will be trialed free of cost. Those who spoke on the occasion were Niaz Ali Shah, Syed Akram Shah, Atiqur Rehman and Niaz A Niazi. A local committee was also detailed and following office bearers were nominated for this committee. Hazrat Karim president, Miss Zaina Bibi vice President, Khaleelur Rehman General Secretary and Miss Sherin Bib Joint Secretary.
