Jammu, December 28, (Scoop News)- On the eve of New Year, Jammu Range Police Headquarters in collaboration with Parade Association Jammu organized veteran T-20 cricket tournament at Parade Ground Jammu today.
The tournament was inaugurated by DIG Jammu Range Shakeel Ahmed Beig. A large number of sports lovers besides Circular Business Controller, (CBC) Aircel and Organizing Secretary, Rajesh Gill were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, DIG Jammu Range said that the tournament has been organized for veteran cricketers, who remain busy in their day to day life and get less time for recreational activities.
He said that during the tournament 06 veteran cricket teams is being participating which include Choudhary Cricket-11, Parade Association-11, Senior Advocate-11, Aircel-11, Atman Sports-11 and Senior JKP-11. The closing ceremony would be held on 11th January 2014, he added.
He said that Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament would be the priority of J&K Police to make this event an annual feature on the eve of New Year.
He also said that Range Police Jammu has also organized various programmes under Civic Action Programme (CAP) viz. awareness Programme on road safety, social evils, anti-drug rallies and different sports activities for ensuring people friendly policing.
The inaugural match was played between Choudhary Cricket-11 and Parade Association-11 in which Choudhary Cricket-11 defeated Parade Association-11 by 65 runs.
