Jammu and Kashmir: Analyzing, de-reserving of about 800 posts meant for Kashmiri Migrants (KMs),as a matter injustice member legislative assembly (MLA) of PDP, Choudary Zulfkar while keeping his point of view over the issue said that he smells rat in the bringing the bill. He was of view that there was no need of bringing legislature given that the subject was pertaining to a community under Prime Minister’s package. He said that purpose would have been served by a notification and cabinet sanction to the issues stands already in place. He said he will approach to court to seek justice for reserved candidates, though, he is not against Kashmiri migrants, he added.
Earlier, Minister for Revenue, Raman Bhalla introduced Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act for amendment to seek insertion of “Provided further that in respect of selection of candidates under Jammu and Kashmir Migrants (Special Drive) Recruitment Rules 2009. If the candidates are not available from any reserved category, other than those falling under sub clause (i) of clause (o) of section 2, the posts earmarked for any such reserved category may be filled up from amongst the eligible candidates in open merit category”.
It is important to mention that there are no reserved categories among Kashmiri Pandits but in the PMs package who kept reservation provisions is worth to think. Even Apex committee of community did not subscribe this venture. Meanwhile, Abdul Rehman Veeri sought enhancement of relief in favour of Kashmir migrants.
