Chadoora/Budgam/Srinagar, November 26 (Scoop News) – A special squad of Drug and Food Control Organisation constituted by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, headed by Assistant Controller Drug Control Budgam, Mrs Ulfat Ara raided two shops at Chadoora on specific complaints of indulging in sale of psychotropic drugs.
The squad raided the shop of Imtiaz Ahmed Najar who had earlier been running a wholesale medical shop but in view of complaints the drug licence had been cancelled, but he had illegally opened another shop in connivance with another collegue and was selling medicines illegally in retail at the shop. The drug control deptt seized all the medicines and sealed his shop. An FIR was lodged in Police Station Chadoora against the culprit.
Another shop of Abdul Majid (urf Sharabi) who was working as a photographer earlier but was now a wholesaler of Atta was raided and during the raid he managed to give the squad a slip and ran away in a load carrier, which is suspected to be full of Corex bottles. The squad found many empty bottles of Corex and Liqour in his shop. An FIR has been lodged against the culprit and Police are searching for him.
Div Com Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon has appreciated the action of the Asst Controller Drug Budgam and her team and urged the general public to convey complaints confidentially, so that the society can be rid of the menace of drug addiction.
