Sergeant Edgar Patino, 27, has been charged in the death of Fort Bragg soldier Megan L. Touma who was found decaying in a Fayetteville, NC hotel room last month.
Edgar Patino has already admitted that he was the father of the baby that Megan L. Touma was carrying when she was murdered. He also admitted that he was in Touma’s hotel room on June 13, the last day her key card was used. Edgar Patino, a married man, had been carrying on an affair with Megan L. Touma when she became pregnant with his child.
Fayetteville police also have evidence against Edgar Patino in the form of typed letters he allegedly sent to a local newspaper claiming responsibility for Megan L. Touma’s death. He made his first appearance in court today but his trial has not formally started.
