"The last 48 hours has been very interesting and it hasn’t been ideal for English cricket," said Geoff Miller.
He added: "(Managing Director of England Cricket) Hugh Morris has put an awful lot of work in in the past few days behind the scenes."
"It has been a non-stop procedure but the ECB have not created the problems in the dressing room and they have had to react accordingly."
"Certain things have happened and we will now have the chance to move on. (New Test captain) Andrew Strauss has had his say and we will do our planning and go on from here," he added.
"I didn’t realise there were deep-rooted problems in the dressing room. I always look to create harmony in the dressing room."
"It’s very disappointing. When we made the appointment of Kevin as captain we did it with the thought of two series and the Ashes in the offing. Now that’s not the case and we have to move on."
