Everyone in India is expecting a change, after an assumed and perceived stagnancy of at least 10 years (that is what most of the people around me are saying). This change has to be a grand one because the expectations are really high. From Kashmir to Kanya Kumari and from Gujarat to Arunanchal Pradesh (that is how the length and width of this country is orally measured) everyone in expecting something. And for a country divided and unified by its diversity this expectation is bound to be diverse. I read, I hear people around the world are intently looking at India for the great day, when for many the expectations will be fulfilled.
This year the voting turnout has been quite different from other years of polling. People have extensively relied on the social media for opinions and social media too have not failed them as a parallel to the conventional media for the sake of information transaction. There is an edge for this media in terms of reliability of opinions if not news. The opinions are shared and re-shared in line to a chain to which they all belong. I will share an opinion with the chain of people linked with me in a social media so will the other person do if he shares his own opinion or re-shares mine. As this sharing is linked-sharing of opinions, reliance gets automatically linked to it, because in the first case I got linked to this chain because of the affinity with the members. Modern revolutions were exclusively possible because of them. India was not left untouched.
With around a week to this great day, I foresee an overflow of expectations towards the person who takes the center stage. Overflow, because of the highly linked and interlinked expectations that are based on reliance. Now who made me to rely will not be the question, it will be I expected this. NM or UPA who so ever will step in will face this heat of around 1.27 billion expectations. Most of those who are for NM are vouching a Gujarat in every state in terms of development. But, will it happen in a year, two year or three, no one knows when. Because when we expect we want it to be fulfilled instantly, and if it does not happen that person becomes a bad guy for us. India is a large country, with diversified governments, diversified voters and a whole lot of diversity within it. Reaching out to every nook and corner of the nation is a herculean task and we must remember that we are not living in the age of fantasy.
Besides, it is also not also possible to appease everyone, someone’s gain is found out to be someone’s loss. So whatever the coming rule propagates, introduces and does as a citizen of this country we will have to wait and watch Our job is done so let us not be fickle minded towards our expectation, let us not dream of a magic and accept the reality.
