Farooq’s statement on Kandhar hijacking case handling as unfortunate and politically motivated. :BJP

Jammu, April 19 -J&K BJP State President Ashok Khajuria has termed the statement of National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdulla regarding Kandhar hijacking case handling as unfortunate and politically motivated. He asked, why Dr Abdulla did not speak over the issue during the last ten years? Now, when the elections are in full swing, the NC President who does not have any agenda to seek the people’s vote, is trying to raise up the issue to mislead the people.

The BJP Chief questioned, why Dr Farooq did not ask his son? Omar Abdullah who was MoS in the BJP led NDA Government in 1999 to quit the office as the Union Minister at that time if he had opposed the decision for release the said terrorists at that time. The release decision was taken under pressure of public to some innocents.

Ashok Khajuria advised the NC President not to politicize the issue and rather he should concentrate on the issues being faced by the common masses of J&K State. Ashok Khajuria adviced NC President should concentrate on the issue of finalizing common minimum programme of ruling coalition government so that the people of the state know what the present government has in store for them. And, how they are going to tackle such burning issues being faced by the people.

Why Dr. Farooq Abdullah remained deaf and dumb over the safe passage given to the militants from Hazrat Bal Shrine and Bariyani provided to them.

The BJP President also criticized the NC Minister for Rural Development. Ali Mohd. Sagar for his statement that "BJP scuttled" NC’s Autonomy proposal through PDP. He said that according to BJP, both the NC and PDP are regional parties and are working against the national interests. While the BJP opposes the NC’s demand of autonomy, it also opposes PDP’s demand of self-rule, flow of dual currency in J&K including that of Pakistani rupee and demilitarization in J&K. He said prior to the formation of PDP it was the National Conference which had its monopoly in the Kashmir Valley politically but now PDP has emerged as its rival there. Because the NC vote bank has shifted, therefore, now the NC President is now issuing such misleading statement in frustration.
