Jammu, July 27 (Scoop News)-To register protest against the mis-governance, non-availability of ration items and indulgence of ministers in crimes against women, hundreds of BJP Mahila Morcha activists under the leadership of Morcha State President Priya Sethi held a massive protest at Purani Mandi Chowk on Saturday. It was organized by Mahila Morcha Jammu District President Parveen Arora.
Priya Sethi, while speaking on the occasion, said that it is most unfortunate that the people are made to suffer on account of non-availability of ration items in depots. The poor consumers used to get sugar through ration depots but for the last over two months, the government has stopped to release sugar for them. The CAPD department is making fool of the people by giving unjustified explanations in the matter. She said that it has been practice for decades that the consumers were given ration items like atta, rice and sugar every month and additional quota of sugar used to be released during festivals. CAPD department should not mislead the consumers of Jammu on the excuse of Ramzan in Kashmir as the reason for release of sugar in valley. She said that the government should not add to the problems of the poor consumers by not releasing sugar for them and added that the Mahila Morcha activists will further gear up to take more aggressive path against the CAPD in coming days.
Commenting on the latest exposure of women exploitation by some ruling political personalities, Priya Sethi said that the elected representatives who ought to devote time for development and welfare are misusing their position and are indulging in acts like exploitation of women. She said that the women are being exploited by the leading luminaries of the present coalition of the state. These high ups are taking advantage of the hardships and helplessness of the fair sex and are exploiting them. This episode is the testimony of the fact that the ministers and other high-ups in the NC-Congress coalition government are promoting corruption and treating the women as tool of pleasure only. She said that the recent exposure of these misdeeds need to be condemned by all and the government should not shield the ministers at any cost.
