Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Managing Director, Ado Sanusi, and some Directors were swept away by a gale that hit the aviation industry on Thursday, which the government hopes would reposition the sector.
The announcement, made by Aviation Minister, Babatunde Omotoba, redeployed some Directors.
Sanusi was replaced by pioneer NAMA Managing Director, Ibrahim Auyo.
Sacked too are Sonny Odidison, Aeronautical Service Director; and John Eze, Safety and Electronic Services Director.
B.S Olopha became Director Air Traffic Services.Elizabeth Agom replaced Ahmed Harisu.
Other new Directors are Nnamdi Udoh and Adebisi Adedara.
Two Directors fired from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) are Sam Gaiya (Legal Services); and Musa Garba (Administration).
Lawal Haruna is now Director Aerodrome and Airspace Standards.A.Gbem was moved from Accident Investigation Bureau to become NCAA Company Secretary/Legal Adviser.
Director of Finance is E.Ebilah while Fatimat Garbati is the new head of the Consumer Protection Unit. Other Directors are Patrick Ekunwe, Telema George, and Iyabo Sosina.
Directors affected at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) are Jerry Onifade (Finance and Accounts); Obi Anadu (Airport Safety and Air Services); Deji Adebiyi (Administration); Usman Balarabe (Aviation Security); and John Ezenwankwo (Airport Operations).
Mohammed Bello was appointed Director of Environment.Two other Directors, Grace Etomi and Saleh Dunoma, were redeployed.
Niyi Ajakaiye, former Public Affairs General Manager, became Director of Administration.
Others appointed as acting Directors are Ilyasu Maitala and Emeka Ogunede.
Elsewhere, Imamdeen Talba was appointed Administrator of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), following the suspension of the Chairman, Ransom Owan, and six Commissioners.
Talba, former NERC Secretary, will be assisted by Alex Amakon, until now Deputy General Manager (Engineering, Safety and Standard).
A statement issued by Power Minister, Rilwan Babalola, said the appointments take immediate effect.
Owan and the Commissioners were arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on February 3 for allegedly misappropriating N1.54 billion last year.
In a separate development, the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAATE) has given the NAMA seven days to begin a review of its condition of service or face industrial action.
The ultimatum began on Wednesday as Sanusi was shown the door.
A statement issued by the General Secretary of Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations Civil Service Technical And Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE), Sylvester Ejiofoh, demanded appropriate professional allowances for Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) licence and ratings in respect of communication, navigation, surveillance, and electromechanical systems.
The AUPCTRE argued that holders of ATSEP licence without rating should earn 50 per cent above the salary in other professional directorates of Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) and communications while non licensed or non rating should earn 20 per cent more.
