Poetry From the Heart
I walk through this arid desert
heaven emits a powerful light
sears everything in its sight
my footsteps waver…
load’s heavy, thirst mocks.
Each footstep brings fluid to my eyes
a desire to give-in and expire…
my strength, will and endurance is dire
life feels worthless and time short.
A fierce storm comes…
cleanses and cools my entire soul
mends doubts and agonies
allows me to reach God’s hand…
rise up to live daily in His light.
God grants survival in the midst of trouble…
He may not respond as desired
but He will answer what is best for people
never fear…God will answer our needs.
