The final countdown has begun. The main candidates in the Ghanaian elections are crisscrossing the country canvassing for votes. The race is between the Ruling NPP and the main opposition NDC. However, the CPP is also doing its best to unsettle these two parties, but it is most unlikely for them to win.
There are eight candidates vying for the position of President. All of them except one are standing on Party tickets. However, less is being heard from four of them. Those who are actively campaigning are Nana Akufo Ado for the NPP, Professor John Atta Mills for the NDC, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom for the CPP and Dr Edward Mahama for the PNC.
While the NPP is calling on the electorates to retain them in power due to what in their own estimation an impressive performance over the past eight years, The NDC, the CPP, to a certain extent the PNC are calling for change. But the change message of the NDC is the loudest as compared to that of the CPP and the PNC.
The question that most observers are asking is whether Ghanaians will follow the wind of “change” blowing in the world or they will retain the ruling NPP. The decision will be heard after 7th December.
