With the start of 2009 I sat down and made a list of goals that I wanted to complete with my business this year. I wrote them down and then made sure that each was measurable. Then I wrote a plan of action for each one of those goals and at what point in the year I would revisit them to see if I was on track to achieving those goals. I like goal setting because it makes my wildest dreams seem attainable.
Right now, I want you to think of your wildest dream in your business? What is it? Don’t think of a certain dollar amount you want to make because money in and of itself is not a motivator. It is the options that money brings us or the things that we can do with that money that motivates us.
Now, break it down into steps. Goals are much easier to achieve once they are broken down into steps. What is the first step you need complete to achieve your goal? What is getting in the way of you completing that goal? Write them down.
With your eyes closed, I want you to imagine that everything you need to achieve your goal is there, waiting for you. Outstretch your arms and feel it. Can you feel it? Trust that everything that you need is provided for you and will be provided for you at the right moment. It will all come together. I am not saying that this journey will be easy, but that when you need it, it will all come together.
Let me ask you this. Once your goal has been completed, does it matter whether or not you put more or less effort into it than the person next to you? Does it matter whether or not you tried or it just came effortlessly once the goal has been accomplished? So then, why not just do it!
Donald Trump said you have to think anyway, so why not think big. Think big. Dream big! Dream about your wildest dreams and then just go do it. It is all waiting for you. Everything you need will be provided for you at the right moment. Are you ready?
