Govt committed to provide basic amenities to people: Ruhullah

 

 

WARSANGAM (BUDGAM)/Srinagar, October 15 (Scoop News) –    The Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has assured people that Government will provide all basic amenities to them, adding Power, Health, PHE, education and R&B sectors are high on its agenda.

The Minister was addressing a public gathering at Warsangam in Budgam district today.

Aga Syed said that though several developmental works have been completed in the area yet a lot is to be done on to address the public demands.

The Minister said the historical decision of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of holding Panchayat elections in the State will pave the way for people to take active part in development process in their respective panchayat halqas. He appealed Sarpanches and Panches to work wholeheartedly for the welfare of the people and come up to their expectations.

. Ruhullah said that 8 projects at a cost of Rs. 11 lakh have been taken up under NREGA which on completion will improve the basic facilities of the people lf Warsangam and its adjacent villages.

Responding to public demands regarding water scarcity in the area, the minister said that a water supply scheme is underway which on completion will mitigate the water problem in the district. He said PHE department would be asked to install few public posts in the area till the scheme is commissioned.

Regarding Haran-Warsangam road, the minister assured people that a project would be approved on which the work can be started next year, however, the R&B department would be asked to fill patch holes on the road till new project is approved, he added.

Regarding improvement in power supply, the Minister said that replacement of old wire and poles will be priority followed by installation of new transformers.
