Mubarak Gul was addressing a gathering at one day seminar organized by Minority Cell of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference in
MLC, Vijay Bakaya and Ex-MLC B. L. Bhat also addressed the gathering.
Gul said that people of the State have suffered a lot during the past 20 years and it is need of the hour to strengthen State’s secular ethos and nurturing its age-old traits of love and brotherhood.
Rejecting the attempts of certain politicians to divide society in the name of region and religion, Gul said that all such attempts are bound to fail as the people are wise enough to read between the lines. He said that such attempts need to be foiled jointly by the people by exhibiting courage and determination.
He said that government is fully aware of the problems of Kashmiri displaced Pandits and assured them that their problems would be redressed in phased manners.
On this occasion MLC, Vijay Bakaya said that Kashmir Pandits have suffered a lot during last 20 years. He said that the Pandits, who were divided in various organizations, are realizing their responsibilities and have gathered under one umbrella now. He stressed for revival of the APEX Committee of Kashmiri Pandits constituted during the regime of Dr. Farooq Abdullah. He said the revival of this committee is necessary for the Kashmiri Pandits at this juncture.
Highlighting the achievements of the government Bakaya said that Government is committed to fulfill its promise made on development front and steps have already been initiated in this direction. The schemes and projects launched across the State during last two years and innovative measures initiated to tackle unemployment crisis have started yielding results, he added.

Earlier, the members of the Minority Cell submitted a charter of demands to the Advisor which include representation in the State Government by including Vijay Bakaya in the cabinet, allotment of flats at Jagti, Nagrota, to the migrants living on non-camps, enhancement in cash relief, implementation of Prime Ministers package for rehabilitation of migrants, relaxation of age in respect of over aged migrant youth in recruitment and compensation and incentives for the migrant industrialists unit holders/traders for restarting their business activities in the valley.
Besides the representatives of Mishriwalla, Peerkho, Muthi, Nagrota and Bohri-Udhaywalla migrant camps, Mrs. Vijay Lakshmi Dutta, M. L. Munshi, Anil Dhar, M. K. Yogi and Ashok Koul addressed the gathering.
