The details of the Nanavathy enquiry commission appointed by the BCCI on Harbajan Singh’s slapping episode, has revealed some remorse on the part of Harbajan Singh over the incident.
In the course of the enquiry held by Sudhir Nanavathi, Harbajan Singh has expressed his remorse over the slapping episode stating that slapping Sreesanth was one of the two saddest days of his life. The other was when Harbajan Singh’s father died.
When Sreesanth was asked why Harbajan Singh slapped him, he replied that he did not know the reason, whereas, when Harbajan Singh was asked why he slapped Sreesanth, he replied to the Commission that certain comments made by Sreesanth during the match had angered him.However, as reported by Nanavathi, though he had mentioned about the comments made by Sreesanth in his report, those comments can not be made public.
Mr.Nanavathi also said since Sreesanth respects Harbajan Singh,he has decided not to initiate any action against Harbajan Singh and so Harbajan Singhj was lucky in that regard,Had Sreesanth preferred a criminal complaint against Harbajan Singh, his cricketing career would have been in jepordy
