While on tour with the rest of the Harlem Globetrotters, Chris “Flash” Richardson passed away. The Globetrotters were putting on a show for United States military servicemen in Sasebo, Japan. It was for the holiday tour.
So far, it has not been confirmed how Richardson died and no further details have been released.
While part of the Globetrotters, Richardson played the position of forward. Before that, he played for UNLV. In high school, he had the achievement of First Team Nike All-American. After graduating from UNLV back in 2002, Richardson went on to play for the Harlem Globetrotters.
In his profile, Richardson said that he loved being a Globetrotter. He said: “I get to do what I love for a living and entertain families.” In that respect, Richardson passed away doing what he loved to do. It does bring a sad note for the tour and to the US servicemen and servicewomen stationed in Japan that were anxious to see the Globetrotters play.
A funeral is set for Richardson’s hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. However, the date of the funeral and memorial service has not been announced.
