Patience and waiting on a response from God can be a struggle when people have a dire need; I’ve found out that God’s response is “always” the right choice in my life. In the scriptures, God rewards people who are patient and endures the sufferings, waiting upon fulfillment of His promises, and who relies and rests on Him through storms in life and to praise Him through the entire process. Patience is a fruit of the Spirit and yes it can be a difficult virtue to master.
I don’t believe there’s a person on earth who doesn’t struggle with “waiting on the Lord,” because people want immediate answers and they become agitated and impatient when they do not get an instant response. When people want an answer they want it “now,” but in the Holy Bible, King James Version and in the New Testament and in the Book of James 1: 3 – 6, it tells people, “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him as of God, that gives to all men liberally, and unbraids not; and it shall be given him.”
It’s my firm belief that the lack of patience to wait upon God can cause people to miss out on “real” blessings and possibly cause harm in their life. God’s word instructs people to wait upon Him and call upon Him through prayer asking for patience and wisdom during their waiting period. Through our waiting’s God provides people strength and encourages them to be patient and “wait” on Him and the right rewards will be provided.
I’ve heard many people make remarks, “God didn’t answer my prayer as I asked; what did I do wrong to deserve this?”
God’s word tells people they didn’t take the time to “wait” on Him to provide the “right” decision in their life and they found themselves in a confused mess. I’m a firm believer having patience and wait on God for He knows what is right for all His people.
It tells us in the New Testament and in the Book of Romans 8: 24 – 30, “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for it? But if we hope for that we see not, do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning’s which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the heart knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For who he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
There are many scriptures provided for people to study and review about being patient and people who believe in God should review these verses being provided to teach a person how to be patient and to wait on God. It’s my belief to wait on God “reaps rewards and increases our faith in Him.”
Genesis 29: 20; 1 Samuel 13: 8 – 14; Luke 15: 11 – 24; Romans 8: 24 – 30; 2 Thessalonians 1: 4 – 5; Hebrews 11: 13-16); this is just a few of the verses.
