People often say, “There’s no hell because God would not send people to a horrible life in hell.”
Hell as described in the Bible is a place of future punishment and the final destination for unbelievers; and it’s described as eternal fire, a place of weeping and torment, the lake of fire, the second death, unquenchable fire and outer darkness; and a place that is totally separated from God forever.
The true Biblical terms for hell are: “the grave, death, the pit, destruction and the Hebrew word for hell is Sheol and it is identified as the abode of the dead, a place where life no longer exists.”
People it’s my firm belief God’s word is telling us there is definitely a hell, and according to the Holy Bible, King James Version, and in Romans 2:11, it tells people, “For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.”
It’s my opinion as I ask this question to those who don’t believe there’s a hell, “Why would people who have accepted God into their lives and obeyed and honored him have a place in heaven; and those who have lived a life of sins and transgressions, never accepted God, disobeyed him and lived a life of disrespect not be held accountable for their sins and the sinful life they’ve lived to be able to walk away without punishment? Surely, there would have to be a punishment for those who have shunned God and didn’t accept him; and I believe that hell is definitely going to be a sinner’s resting place as God’s word attests.
People God’s word tells us even those who have never heard of Christ are also accountable for God’s revelation in nature. In Romans 11:20 it tells people, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse; and in Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it will be opened.” .
I never knew that hell was initially designed for Satan and his demons until I started to study about hell and I learned in Matthew 25:41, “Then will he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. And in Revelation 20:10, “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
I never knew this until I read it here recently, I was always of the opinion hell was designed solely for sinners and false prophets.
God is a just and lovable God but His word tells people that He has provided a way for all to come to salvation, and if a person doesn’t follow his word that they will never see the gates to heaven. In John 3:16, 17, 18, God tells people, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
In John 3:16, as stated in the above paragraph tells people heaven or hell is determined by a person believing and trusting Christ alone to save them; and also in John 3:36, it tells people, “He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.”
People might ask, “What’s this hell going to be like?” In my opinion, it’s going to be a constant torment and people will be aware of their sufferings and pains they will be aware of the reason they’re suffering in such a manner.
The Bible tells people in Matthew 13:49-50, “So will it be at the end of the world: the angels will come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and will cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
In Mark 9:48, “Where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.” People this plainly tells us “we will never die” but suffers the consequences of a living hell where we will be aware of what is happening to us.
In Revelation 14:10, 11, “The same will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name.”
Many people may not be satisfied by biblical terms or verses quoted in the Holy Bible but I’m a believer in God’s word and I’ve found it to be forthright and true. I believe there is Heaven where all of God’s children will be with him eternally and I believe there is a hell where those who did not believe in him and his word will find eternal torment and darkness.
