Islamabad: At last United Nations security council banned the five different organizations based in different parts of Pakistan, including Jamat-u-Dawa, lead by Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, soon after that, Pakistan security forces started carrying out the operations against the groups and their members.
Though it seemed cliché, watching it on the different Pakistan news channels, the Policemen sealing the dispensaries, clinics, schools and libraries of Jamat-u-Dawa, across the country.
After the deadly earthquake of 8th October 2005, in the northern parts of Pakistan, I was volunteering with a French relief organization in Balakot and Kaghan valley, the areas that were badly hit by the earthquake, on the other hand, there I had seen volunteers and members of Jamat-u-Dawa, who had their camps near Balakot and they had also established some tent villages, where they were providing food, shelter, health and education facilities to the victims of the earthquake.
As it has been mentioned earlier that jamat-u-Dawa, a social welfare organization, that has the schools, libraries, dispensaries in Pakistan as well as Pakistan held Kashmir, that have been sealed now, moreover, without providing any solid proof against the Mumbai attacks by India to Pakistan, Security council’s resolution to ban these organizations may raise suspicions about the western imperialism may pushing the Muslims to a corner and there is no room for the marginalized nations and countries on the face of the globe either to comply with their orders or to be ready for sanctions.
The pressure is being mounted on the Pakistani establishment from the politicians and civil society that India took the Mumbai attacks’ case to UN, so now it has provided the opportunity to Pakistan to take the Samjhota train attacks issue to UN security council to get the justice, in that terrorist attack some 76 people were killed and most of them were Pakistanis, however, Indian military backed the terrorists and provided them the explosive material.
However, India has lauded the Pakistani steps, imposing a ban on the groups but the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh asked for more, India is behaving like our Yankee friends, who are never happy with the military operations of Pakistani troops in the tribal belt of north western Pakistan and saying do more, that makes me sing a famous bollywood song, Singh is King.
