India – Chandigarh: MIG 29 fighter aircraft components test will conduct by the Indian Air Force to establish the Indian air force plus point and its technical advancements. In earlier week the MIG 29 Russian Air Force fleet grounded due to the detection of defects in them.
Gautam Nayyar Air Marshal, said on his farewell visit "The IAF will conduct ultra sound examination of certain components of the MIG 29 at 11 Base Repair Depot (BRD) of the force," He added that "corrosion is seen" on some parts of the MIG 29 fighter aircraft.
Nayyar said, In June 2010 the IAF will receive the fully assembled 80 medium helicopters ‘MI 17 V5’ from Russia. Nayyar added, that "The repair, maintenance and overhauling of the medium helicopter will be undertaken at 3 BRD of the IAF."
The process of modernizing, renovating hangers and upgrading infrastructure is taken in IAF, so that the new technology of medium helicopter is adopted.
