If India takes one step, we will take three towards Peace: Pakistan FM

Islamabad: Pakistani Foreign minister, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, urged the Indian government to restart the dialogue process and deescalate the tensions that were raised in the wake of Mumbai terrorist attacks.

The troops that were deployed during the recent days, they should be relocated and sent back to the peacetime positions.

After the Mumbai attacks, the Indian government had started a media war against Pakistan, on the other hand, through UN Security Council pressurized Pakistan, cancellation of the Indian Cricket Team’s Pakistan tour in January 2009, in the meanwhile Indian fighter jets violated Pakistan’s airspace twice firstly at Kashmir sector and then at Lahore, and from Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukharjee to the Prime Minister Manmohan ji and even the leaders of the political parties like Sonia Gandhi slammed Pakistan, called it the epicenter of terrorism, but Pakistan’s leadership had been very patient, showed solidarity with India, its people and extended a helping hand in the joint investigation but all the efforts came in nay.

But due to growing international pressure on India and the visits of the international envoys to India and Pakistan, made the things starting getting better from the Indian side, especially when Pakistan mobilized the troops from the western borders, India realized the sensitivity of the matter.

Now it seems that clouds that were looming over the region would be taken away by the wind of peace.
