Chasing the India’s first innings score of 526 all out, Australia replied strongly with a score of 563 all out, with three centuries from Mathew Haydon (103). Ricky Ponting (140) and Michael Clarke.India gave a fitting reply in its second innings with a score of 45 for 1, for the loss of Irfan Pathan’s wicket for no score. At stumps Sehwag was not out with 31 and Rahul Dravid with 11 runs not out at the crease.
Tomorrow being the fifth day, India should bat well atleast upto lunch without loosing any wicket, without giving any semblance of chance or hope for Australia to win the fourth test.On the other hand if India loose early wickets on the fifth day morning, Australia will have a stranglehold on India, dismissing India cheaply and chasing the target set by India. On the other hand if India scores at a briske pace and declare its second innings setting a challenging task for Australia, it will be interesting to see whether India will dismiss Australia and square the series or settle for a draw.
The fifth day pitch being weary and more bouncy and both teams are vying for honours in the fourth and final test and it is interestingly poised.
