Indian Military Commander-in-chief, Gen Bikram Singh has geared up the army personnel deployed in Poonch sector at the line of control in the aftermath of the two major attacks by the Pakistan Army in the last eight months.
He reviewed the situation at LOC in the aftermath of the killing of five Indian soldiers in Poonch sector and gave a big jerk to the formation commanders posted in that area.
On January 8, two Indian soldiers were killed and one of them was beheaded by the troops of Pakistan’s Special Services Group (SSG) who had intruded Indian Territory unprovoked. At that time ,the Army chief had directed his formation commanders to take on a forceful and aggressive action at the LoC and react instantly to the provoked attack by Pakistani army.
Gen Singh had said, “I expect my commanders to be aggressive in the face of firing,”.
The sources said that the army was also verifying that how the terrorists have been able to get-out of the anti-personnel mines set in the area of LOC; and to point out any violations or loopholes in the set-up of LOC security.
