Srinagar/Jammu, September 20 (Scoop News)- The Inner Call forum for Evolution, Development and Awareness, while commemorating Mental Wellness month, today organized an awareness program on ‘Mental Wellness’ at Janipur in Jammu and at Ganderbal in Kashmir.
In this context, ‘The Inner Call’ team in District Jammu held a seminar in District Court Complex at Janipur wherein the lawyers and activists were invited. While addressing the lawyers the experts described in detail the various causes that lead to Mental Illnesses. Advocate Depika Rajawat facilitated the program and spoke about the various factors of stress faced by people especially professionals while at work .
Speakers on this occasion said that Mental health is an essential component of overall health and well-being. They emphasis on the need to reach out to other health and wellness advocates to assure that mental health and substance use conditions are reframed as public health issues, on a par with the other major public health issues confronted by our society. Viewing mental wellness as the core of wellness and thus the core of public health.
In District Ganderbal , an awareness program was held in the New Dream Land Higher Secondary School, wherein 200 Students and teachers participated and interacted with ‘The Inner Call’ team regarding the various stresses they experience due to the circumstances.
Experts urged the teachers to carefully observe the behavior of their children so that they can be helped at the earliest stages of the stress.
They said that The Inner Call is committed to develop a successful wellness agenda that integrates mental health and substance use issues with general health issues. To build and maintain well-being, people need to develop self-understanding and what has been characterized as “emotional intelligence”.
In the coming week Inner Call has planned events on mental health awareness at Budgam , Anantnag , Ramban & Doda.
