Poetry From The Heart
I walked alone countless times in life…
afraid of imprints made
where would they lead too?
Love left me pickpocketed of causes
afraid to ardor and trust
erasing incentives close to my soul.
Innocence’s fleeced by an abuser…
having no respect for him or others.
A split tongue spoke in altered mindsets
captured the heart of a virtuous woman.
One once protected and kept pure
by influences of strict parenting skills.
Lured and enticed into hands of exploitation…
exposed to a life of injustices and threats
lived with love in a heart and abuse on the body.
Marriage, sacred and never intending divorce
hopes, dreams, and plans for a future in no way came…
afraid, with child, and no-one to turn too.
Love wasn’t supposed to be this way…
no rays of sunshine, rainbows or smiley faces
darkness enfolded the hours of the day
a spirit and mind broken without a clue.
Love wasn’t supposed to be this way…
no rays of sunshine, rainbows or smiley faces.
