Intelligence failure in detecting the construction of tunnel by Pak Rangers

Jammu,July 30 (Scoop News ) -BJP today accused the UPA government of serious intelligence failure in not being able to detect the construction of underground tunnel by Pakistan Rangers on the International Border close to Samba. It is surprising that tunnel could not be detected even though the work of the digging and construction had got carried upto over 300 meters within Indian territory. It was fortuitous that the roof of the tunnel gave in due to rains and the horrendous mischief of the Pakistan saw light of the day. The dangerous potential for this tunnel for playing with the security and safety of the Indian people cannot be understated. This was stated by the State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while reacting to this recent dangrous development which has shocked the entire nation.

Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the discovery of this 25 feet deep underground tunnel should serve as a eye-opener for the UPA government while dealing with Pakistan government and not be taken in by its pretensions of being sincere and having given up its past practice of using terrorism as a tool of its policy and dealing with this country. An underground tunnel 25 feet deep and more than 300 meters long running inside Indian territory having installed fresh air supply facility could not have been constructed by private individuals or local officers at individual level but had to have approval and full support from the highest level of the government. Such projects require lot of planning and conceiving and also logistical support, not possible at the lower level of the government.

Manhas advised UPA government to deal with Pakistan on the basis of ground realities and not what Pakistan boasts or claims to be. There are large number of terrorist training camps still running and active in PoK with full protection by the Pakistan state and many terrorists ready to sneak into India for creating mayhem, terror and cause death and destruction, Manhas said.
