
Jammu, October 01 (Scoop News) – J&K Minister for Medical, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports R. S. Chib today released a national level survey ‘Economic & Health Survey on India’s’ Oldest Old’ in a function organized by the Help Age India to mark the International Day of Older Persons . This year theme of celebration was Health of Elderly People in which various health related issues of elderly people were discussed
Addressing the gathering, the Minister threw light on the problems of elderly people in the modern society and also highlighted the schemes run by government for the welfare of Old people. He lauded the efforts of the Help Age India for bringing a positive change in the lives of elderly people and giving them social protection and other facilities . Chib said we should give due respect and care to the elders who have made a valuable contribution in shaping the society .He said that elders have an important role in imparting values and ethos of life in younger generation and their knowledge and experience can act as a guiding force for all.
A very descriptive lecuture on problems of older persons was delivered by President All J&K Senior Citizens Welfare Council K. K. Gandotra and Secretary Old Age Home Amphalla Jammu Vijay Bagotra.
