Just a day back, I have posted a report on Delay in GroundReport.com payment. Today, the matter had been resolved as I had received my November 2008 payment as well as my December 2008 payment.
Well, it does pay to wait. I guess this should cleared some air on negative speculations by GroundReporters.
Community Journalism has not been on the Internet for a long time and it is relatively new per se in terms of online interactive applications or also termed as Web 2.0. But the idea of disseminating the freedom to report factual news all around the world makes this idea really interesting and lucrative as numerous net traffic are generated. The constant updating of contents would naturally increase the keyword density which will bring reports from this website to the top of search engines. So in my personal opinion, this business model works and viable as compared to other online business model like paid to click or other GPT programs.
Below is the message from GroundReport.com:
"Dear GroundReporters, Happy New Year! Thank you for your efforts and patience. I am happy to offer you payment details for traffic to your work in November and December 2008. I would like to apologize for the significant delay in payment; we were awaiting transfers related to the grant awarded recently by Neo.org. Many of you played a crucial role in helping us secure this honor– thank you! As another means of thank you, I have included payment for both November and December 2008– December’s payment coming almost two weeks ahead of schedule. I wish you all the best success and happiness in 2009. I hope you will take this opportunity to share GroundReport.com with more incredible reporters and journalists around the globe, and to tell the international community about the events affecting you locally.
Thanks, Rachel".
