Introducing… North Korea as the new villain – dixit America!

It seems America cannot live without having long run enemies… with its closest allies’ support all the way, whether against the Soviets, Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden or Kim Jong-un.

First, “we” (the world) faced the threat of Communism, then the Berlin Wall fell. After that, “we” faced the threat of Saddam Hussein, before he was taken down. “We” also faced the threat of Al Qaeda, then Bin Laden was killed. Now, “we” face the threat of North Korea and their hallucinating leader.

The most idiotic thing about it is not actually whatever villain the United States claim they want to defend the world against, but rather the endless support the British Prime Ministers offer to everything the Americans say. It was the case yesterday with Tony Blair and the Bush administration’s “War on Terror.” It is still the case today with David Cameron and his ridiculous and slightly humiliating “North Korea could hit Britain with a nuclear strike” speech.

“North Korea does now have missile technology that is able to reach, as they put it, the whole of the United States and if they are able to reach the whole of the United States they can reach Europe too. They can reach us too, so that is a real concern.” David Cameron said speaking to defence workers in Scotland.

Do read the interesting article in “The Independent.

Also take a moment to read my article, written in December 2011, introducing Kim Jong-un as the new leader of North Korea.
