Is Apple Contemplating Creating A Search Engine?

So far, it is known that Google is one of the most widely used Internet search engines in the world. We can access online maps, shop online, catch up on the news, check e-mail, and watch video. It was not long ago that Google and YouTube had joined forces. With all these capabilities, Google is one of the most powerful and mostly used search engines on the Internet.

However, it may seem that Apple Inc., the creators of the iPod and the iPhone may look to compete with Google. So far, Google is the primary search engine on the browsers for both the iPhone and the iPod.

On an interesting twist, it is revealed that Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt also sits on Apple’s board of directors. However, it is explained that Schmidt is not present in the talks about Apple’s mobile capabilities and technology.

While there is a strong possibility that Apple could be trying to create its own search engineer, there is a contradiction present. In order to build a search engine, Apple would have to hire many engineers.

Much money and manpower would be required to create s a search engine to rival that of Google. However, there have been no companies that have lost employees to Apple in that regard. The companies do not know what Apple is doing.

At the same time, Apple does profit from Google in the form of regular fees.

While there is a major contradiction present, there is a question that should be asked: What is Apple’s angle in all of this? What is Apple planning in regards to online search engines?
