Awantipora,Srinagar, November 11 (Scoop News)- A two-day virtual workshop “Aakash for Education” was conducted by IIT Bombay to train educational institutes on using applications of Aakash for effective use of the device as well as to enhance the technological skills of the teaching faculty.
The objective of the workshop was to introduce the tablet computers to the participating faculty members.

As many as 45 faculty members from various departments of IUST participated and were exposed to the new and educational purposes served by the Aakash Tab II.

Meanwhile, in the two day workshop the participants were exposed to various facets of the Aakash Tab that could serve as the bedrock in the modern and participatory approach in the education sector.
Detailing about the workshop, Coordinator of the Project at IUST, Mohammad Asif Naqshbandi, said that the aim of such type of workshop is to develop a sense of research and development among the faculty members and the students.

He said that citing the importance of the workshop, Vice Chancellor, IUST, Prof A R Trag took effective measures for including IUST as one of the centers for this workshop.
Assistant Coordinator of the project, Majid Nisar informed that an Aakash tab would be connected to a local Linux server and the students can have access to real time lectures as well as quizzes. “ The tab will facilitate an immediate response and feedback from the student about a given topic that was taught in the class room. It will provide a continuous assessment system,” Majid added.
