Jammu, December 25 (Scoop News) –Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condoled the demise of Head Constable Niaz Ahmed who loss his life during an encounter in Kulgam.
In his condolence message, Omar Abdullah highlighted the sacrifice of late Niaz Ahmed and said that this denotes the commitment and bravery of J&K Police Force.
He conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the deceased.
It may be mentioned here that two militants were killed and a policeman also lost his life in an encounter in Kulgam on Monday. Both the slain militants were involved in the Silver Star shoot out in Srinagar.
Police said that Kulgam police along with 9RR and 18 CRPF launched a joint operation at Dodhipora, Kulgam in the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam. The militants fired upon the search party and tried to flee. However, the operational parties pursued them and killed both the militants in the open paddy fields between Dodhipora and Kanipora.
The slain militants were later identified as District commander of LeT outfit Mudisir Ahmad Sheikh @ Mawyia resident of Yamrach and Tamim a Pakistani militant. Both the militants were involved in Silver Star shoot out in Srinagar on 19th October, 2012.
