Jammu, February 27, (Scoop News)-J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has expressed deep grief over the incident at Manasbal Army Camp and described it most unfortunate.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister conveyed his sympathy to the Army and bereaved families. He prayed for peace to the departed souls.
It may be mentioned that five counter insurgency soldiers were killed when a sentry on duty opened fire on his colleagues in a guard room near Manasbal on late Wednesday evening, a defence official said .
Manasbal is 30 northeast of Srinagar, the summer capital.
The sentry later on committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle.
The official said a court of inquiry has been ordered to probe the incident.
Earlier, several incidents of fratricide had taken place across Jammu and Kashmir.
