In a message of greetings, the Governor said that the festival symbolizes communal harmony and brotherhood which are the hallmark of the glorious pluralistic ethos of the State.
The Governor, on the occasion, prayed for peace, amity, progress and prosperity in the State.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has conveyed greetings to Kashmiri Pandits on the eve of Mela Khir Bhawani. He has wished peace and prosperity to the State and well being of the people on the occasion.
Peoples Democratic Party Patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and President Mehbooba Mufti today extended their greetings to the people particularly the Hindu community who came from all over the country on the eve of Mela Kheer Bhawani. They welcomed the package tour for the devotees of Kheer Bhawani and added that this will boost pilgrim as well as domestic tourism in the state.
In a massage theysaid that the festival epitomizes mutual brotherhood and communal amity and added the day will bring in a new dawn of peace, prosperity and development in the State.
Meanwhile Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today visited Mata Khir Bhawani Shrine at Tulmulla and took stock of the arrangements made by the divisional and district administrations in connection with 3-day Khir Bhawani Mela commencing from tomorrow.
He paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for the welfare and prosperity of the country in general and
Tara Chand went round the stalls installed by the different departments, NGOs, Dharmarth Trust of Khir Bhawani and other agencies to facilitate the devotees.
Devotees put-forth their demands including additionality of accommodation for Dharmshalla. The Deputy Chief Minister assured that their genuine demands would be addressed sympathetically.
MLC. Ali Mohammad Bhat, District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Dilshada Khan, Director Local Bodies, Kashmir Khawja Farooq Ahmad Renzu and other officers of the district administration accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister during the visit.
