Jammu, March 22 (Scoop News) – N. N. Vohra, Governor, has greeted the people on Navratras and Navreh, sincerely hoping that this auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of harmony, brotherhood, amity, sustained peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the Navratras have a special significance for the devotees, who visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji in large numbers during this auspicious period.
The Governor also extended warm greetings to Kashmiri Pandits, who celebrate the day of the first Navratra as Navreh, the beginning of the New Year and the onset of Spring.
The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has greeted people on the eve of Navratra wishing them well being and prosperity.
In a greetings message issued here, the Chief Minister highlighted the State’s rich tradition of celebrating the holy occasions and festivals in amity and brotherhood. He called for strengthening this ethos of the State. He also mentioned the observance of the day by Kashmiri Pandits as Navreh (New Year Day) and also conveyed them greetings and best wishes for the New Year.
Omar expressed the hope that the day would bring joy to all. He prayed for peace and all round development in the State and the country.
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Navratra.
The Deputy Chief Minister in his greetings message prayed for peace and well being and hoped that the forthcoming days of prayer and fasting bring joy and happiness for all.
He expressed hope that period of Navratras would be harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity for the State.
